A Night to Remember!

My Blogging ground to a halt mid March largely because I was so busy promoting Mortlock, visiting schools and generally being excited. But then came the launch.

Bloomsbury had chosen The Waterpoet pub in Shoreditch as the location. A downstairs room had been decked out with lights and candles to create a creepy atmosphere. I had been asked to write a couple of scenes for actors to perform, giving a flavour of the book and its themes. They did a fantastic job!

I was asked to talk for a little bit about what inspired me to write Mortlock and I suspect, as ever, that I might have rambled on a little!

My family all came down and virtually took over the place!

The SCBWI crowd were out in force and the lovely Kathy Evans even brought me my very own crow!

Which Sarwat Chadda then tried to eat!

Candy took loads of pictures (which I have shamelessly stolen here) then curled up with a copy of Mortlock and began to read (there is a photo of that somewhere  but I'm not sure who has it!)

It was just such a joy to be with so many friends and family to welcome Mortlock into the world. Thanks to Ian Lamb and everyone else at Bloomsbury involved in making it possible!

Other eye-witness accounts can be read here and here and here!
